What is CPC 12021?

According to California Penal Code 12021, anyone who has a prior felony or listed misdemeanors and owns, receives or sells a firearm can be found guilty of being a Felon with a Firearm.

As a condition of his parole, Jerry’s parole officer came to his home unannounced and began to search the premises, after a short search, the handling police officers found Jerry’s weapons. Jerry is arrested and charged with violating PC 12020.

What Are the Penalties for Violating PC 12021?

CPC 12021 Felon with a Firearm is filed as a felony California offense and those found guilty can face:

Up to 16 months, two or three years in the County Jail
A maximum $10,000 fine
Seizure of the firearm
